Al Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe’s Al Tahoe neighborhood has an historical past dating back to when the Washoe Indians made this area their home.  The early discovery and settlement of this lightly wooded beautiful land adjoining the lake simply shows that people then and now have always found the Al Tahoe area a desirable place to call home.  There is easy access to beaches and meadow walks with lake and mountain views.  The area is centrally located in South Lake Tahoe with direct access to restaurants, shops, schools, parks and more.  The Heavenly Gondola and casino’s are just a short drive which appeals to both the local home owners and vacationers alike.

There are approximately 1,000 home in Al Tahoe with styles ranging from the historic “Tahoe cabins” to larger, newer construction.  With a history dating back a hundred years, the homes reflect the ever expanding growth in the area during that time frame. You will find dramatic lake front and meadow front homes in addition to the Tahoe mix of ranch style homes, chalets, and contemporary homes. There are a small number of multi-family dwellings, mostly located on the main arteries within Al Tahoe. People who choose Al Tahoe appreciate the ability to walk to El Dorado and Regan Beach, both offering great beach recreation and a place to access the lake for kayaking, fishing or just plain lying around and enjoying being on one of Tahoe’s sandy beaches.  The South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena is within walking distance and offers a full-service state of the art ice skating facility.  The South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex, within the same complex as the Ice Arena, has a gorgeous and year-round public pool.  For those who seek and love continuing their education, the Lake Tahoe Community College is a short drive from this Al Tahoe neighborhood.
